The Municipality of Tirana has denied the statements made by the number two of the Freedom Party, Tedi Blushi, regarding a tender for the furnishing of an individual office or for the personal needs of its officials.

The Municipality of Tirana says that in reality it is a regular procurement procedure, developed by the institution in accordance with the entire relevant legal framework for the functional needs of several institutions subordinate to the municipality.

"The statements made by Mr. Blushi are lies and are not based on any official document or provable fact, thus becoming part of a deliberate campaign of public disinformation. The Municipality of Tirana is and remains committed to guaranteeing full transparency in every public process and encourages all citizens and the media to verify information through official channels and to rely on reliable sources.

"The spread of inaccurate information that undermines institutional work will be treated seriously through legal mechanisms provided by law to protect institutional dignity and integrity, and in this context, all legal avenues will be considered to clarify the public," the Municipality of Tirana said in its response, among other things.
