The Italian Ministry of the Interior is preparing the list of migrants who will be transferred to the camp in Gjadra.
According to what La Reppublica reports , this time, those who arrive will stay.
In fact, these are people awaiting deportation, already held in other Italian repatriation centers, which, according to the latest directive of the Ministry of Interior a few weeks ago, have begun to register full capacity.
In recent hours, the Department of Civil Liberties and Immigration of the Ministry of the Interior, headed by Prefect Rosanna Rabuano, has been working on the list of immigrants considered most suitable for transfer to Albania.
The prestigious Italian newspaper reports that the nationalities of the immigrants who could be transferred to Gjadra are Tunisians, Egyptians, Moroccans and Albanians. Therefore, paradoxically, even irregular Albanian immigrants could end up in Gjadra, waiting to be accepted by the government in Tirana.
For them, the actual repatriation would be easier and certainly less costly: they would be the only ones who could be released on Albanian territory.
For all others, according to the rules established with Prime Minister Edi Rama in the protocol in force, they will need to return to Italy before they can begin repatriation procedures.
"It is therefore essential that Italy strengthens existing agreements to avoid the boomerang effect of the new version of Operation Albania, in case the migrants brought there were to stay for months without being sent home," writes La Reppublica.
