A significant amount of money, 150,000 euros and 164,735 British pounds, was seized in the port of Durrës.

This large sum was allegedly obtained as a result of criminal activity and was being attempted to enter Albania without declaring.

The money was hidden in the cab of the truck driven by Dritan Hallkokondi, who was caught by the police.

Another case of an attempt to introduce into Albania a large amount of money in euros and pounds, allegedly obtained as a result of criminal activity, was struck.

The coded police operation "Shuma" is finalized, thanks to the informational intelligence provided by the investigative structures of the General Directorate of the State Police.

The operation, by the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with the Border Police of the port of Durrës and the Sector for the Investigation of Economic Crimes in the Local Directorate of the Durrës Police.

The operation, in the wake of other operations carried out in recent months, for the attack on the attempt to introduce into Albania, large sums of money in euros and pounds and attempts to smuggle oil and other goods for which excise duty is paid .

150,000 euros and 164,735 British pounds are seized.

This is the 5th case of an attempt to introduce large sums of undeclared money, hit by the State Police, during the last months. The driver of the truck that was transporting the money and tried to bring it into Albania, through the port of Durrës, without declaring it, was arrested.

The investigative structures of the General Directorate of the State Police, following successive operations carried out in the port of Durrës, thanks to information intelligence about a citizen who was trying to bring a large amount of money in euros and pounds into Albania, have organized work in order to attack this case.

Në bashkëpunim me Policinë Kufitare të portit Durrës dhe Sektorin për Hetimin e Krimeve Ekonomike e Financiare në DVP Durrës, kanë organizuar dhe finalizuar operacionin policor të koduar “Shuma”, në kuadër të të cilit u kalua për kontroll të detajuar, në vijën e dytë, kamioni që drejtohej nga shtetasi D. H., 53 vjeç, banues në Tiranë, i cili udhëtonte nga Italia për në portin e Durrësit.

Gjatë kontrollit të detajuar, shërbimet e Policisë gjetën të fshehura në kabinën e kamionit, 150 000 euro dhe 164 735 paund britanik, të cilat u sekuestruan në cilësinë e provës materiale.

Në bashkëpunim me Prokurorinë vijon puna për zbardhjen dhe dokumentimin e plotë të këtij rasti, identifikimin dhe kapjen e poseduesit/sve të këtyre shumave të parave në euro dhe në paund.
