The Transparency Board has again changed fuel prices in the country, in the context of the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

With an official announcement today, the Board announces that oil will fall by 3 lek and gasoline will also increase by 3 lek.

The retail price of the gasoil by-product of the SSH EN 590 standard shall be no more than 217 lek/liter, while the wholesale price shall be no more than 205 lek/liter.

The retail price of the SSH EN standard gasoline by-product should be no more than 176 lek/liter, while the wholesale price should be no more than 164 lek/liter.

The prices set by the Board will come into effect today, the 10th, at 6:00 PM and will be valid until the next board meeting where the changes in sales prices will be reflected.

On April 9 (yesterday) the Board set the price at 210 lek per liter from 220 lek per liter previously. Also, gasoline at 173 lek/liter from 181 lek per liter the day before.

"The Transparency Board on April 10, 2026, at its next meeting, decided:

The retail price of the gasoil by-product of the SSH EN 590 standard shall be no more than 217 lek/liter, while the wholesale price shall be no more than 205 lek/liter.

The retail price of the SSH EN standard gasoline by-product should be no more than 176 lek/liter, while the wholesale price should be no more than 164 lek/liter.

We draw the attention of every operator of wholesale and retail sales of petroleum by-products to the obligation to implement this decision.

In case of violations found by various operators, the suspension of activity will be decided.

The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, together with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, are committed to protecting the interests of Albanian consumers and preserving the principles of fair competition in the market.

EXPLANATION: Referring to Normative Act No. 1, Date 3.4.2026 “On an addition to Law No. 61/2012, “On excise duties in the Republic of Albania,” as amended, which provides that if the retail price for diesel is higher than 220 lek/liter, or for gasoline is higher than 200 lek/liter, the 80% excise duty level shall be applied. Based on the application of the methodology for calculating the retail sales ceiling prices, the prices are below the limit of Normative Act No. 1, date 3.4.2026, and consequently the excise duty level shall be applied in full, 100%.
