An Albanian, who was caught with 13 kg of cocaine and a pistol, was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

Irakli Rustemi, 33, was an illegal immigrant, police said.

According to the BBC, officers found a handgun and cocaine worth £700,000 at his home.

He was stopped for a routine check while driving in Buntingford.

During a search of the car, officers found a key which opened a Cheshunt flat.

Officers discovered the gun in the apartment, six rounds of ammunition and a magazine hidden in the wardrobe.

They also found £700,000 worth of cocaine.

The cocaine was divided into blocks of 1 kg each.
