Genti Nderjaku has been placed under "house arrest" by the GJKKO, as his detention for drug trafficking charges has ended.
Nderjaku, accused of drug trafficking, is suspected of being part of the criminal group that organized the attack on former prosecutor Arjan Ndoja and Aleksandër Laho, known as "Rrumi i Shijaku", where the driver Andi Maloku was killed.
For the assassination charges, he will continue to remain under arrest in prison.
For this event, Redjan Rraja, grandson of former deputy Rrahman Rraja, and Ariol Halili were sentenced to 35 years in prison, while the accomplices received lighter sentences.

Petitioner Genti Nderjaku (suspect of committing the criminal offense of "Trafficking in narcotics" committed as a special form of cooperation, that of a structured criminal group, provided for by articles 283/a/1 and 28/4 of the Criminal Code, attributed to dated 18.07.2023) on 28.10.2024 submitted to the Court the request with the object:
"Determining the loss of the power of detention, due to the end of the detention period". Likewise, the applicant Julian Pjetri (suspect of committing the criminal offense of "Trafficking in narcotics" committed as a special form of cooperation, that of a structured criminal group, provided by articles 283/a/1 and 28/4 of the Criminal Code , attributed on 18.07.2023) on 28.10.2024 submitted to the Court the request with the object:
"Cancellation of the security measure, due to the loss of the power of detention". The above requests have been merged into a single one with an interim decision, dated 30.10.2024.

At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with a panel composed of judge Erjon Bani, based on articles 263, 1 point "c", 266 point 1 of the Criminal Code , as well as in decision No. 195, dated 24.07.2024 of the Criminal College of the Supreme Court, with decision No. 610, dated 30.10.2024, decided:
The determination of the loss of the power of detention, specifically the security measure "Arrest in prison", provided by article 238 of the Criminal Code assigned to the person under investigation Genti Gani Nderjaku, with Decision No. 308, dated 21.07.2023 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime and extended by decision No. 439, dated 16.07.2024 of this Court, due to the passing of detention periods during preliminary investigations.
2. Based on Article 266 point 1 of the Criminal Code, the assignment to the person under investigation Genti Gani Nderjaku, of the personal security measure "House arrest" provided for by Article 237 of the Criminal Code.
3. The person under investigation Genti Gani Nderjaku is forced not to leave his apartment with address: ****.
4. Forcing the person under investigation, Genti Gani Nderjaku, not to communicate with other people except those who live with him.
5. The implementation and supervision of this measure should be done by judicial police officers who cover the residence of the person under investigation Genti Gani Nderjaku.
6. The determination of the loss of the power of detention, specifically the security measure "Arrest in prison", provided by article 238 of the Penal Code assigned to the person under investigation Julian Ndue Pjetri, with Decision No. 308, dated 21.07.2023 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime and extended by decision No. 439, dated 16.07.2024 of this Court, due to the passing of detention periods during preliminary investigations.
7. Based on article 266 point 1 of the Penal Code, the assignment to the person under investigation, Julian Ndue Pjetri, of the personal security measure "House arrest" provided for by article 237 of the Penal Code.
8. The person under investigation, Julian Ndue Pjetri, is forced not to leave his apartment at the address: ****.
9. Forcing the person under investigation, Julian Ndue Pjetri, not to communicate with other people except those who live with him.
10. The implementation and supervision of this measure should be done by judicial police officers who cover the residence of the person under investigation, Julian Ndue Pjetri.
11. The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime is charged in cooperation with the judicial police for the execution of this decision.
12. An appeal can be made against this decision to the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime within 5 (five) days, starting from the day after the notification of this decision.
