Wanted by Spain for drug trafficking, 39-year-old arrested in Malësia e Madhe

A 39-year-old man who was declared an international wanted man has been arrested by police in Malësia e Madhe.

Authorities in Spain have sentenced the 39-year-old to "prison arrest" for the criminal offenses of "Drug Trafficking" and "Participation in a Criminal Organization", committed with the intent to trade narcotics.

The arrested person is expected to be extradited to Spain.

Police announcement:

Following the information and operational coordination with counterparts in Spain, with the objective of locating and capturing citizens declared internationally wanted, specialists from the Search Sector (FAST Albania), in the Directorate of the Special Operational Force in the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with the Shkodra DVP, finalized the police operation codenamed "Fast", as a result of which the citizen was located in Malësi e Madhe and provisionally arrested:

GH alias GH, 39 years old, born in Koplik.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Madrid, after the Spanish judicial authorities, by decision dated 08.07.2026, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Trafficking in narcotics" and "Participation in a criminal organization", committed with the purpose of trafficking in narcotics.

Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Spanish authorities, is continuing the procedures for the extradition of the 39-year-old to Spain.
