Police official announcement on the assassination of Thimjo Rubati in Saranda

Saranda Police have officially reacted to the attack that occurred this evening in the coastal city, where 50-year-old Thimjo Rubati, a well-known name among law enforcement officers, was injured.

According to police, the 50-year-old man was shot with a barrage of gunfire near his business, causing serious injuries.

As for the perpetrators, it is suspected that there were two people equipped with spacesuits, who fled the scene on a motorcycle.

Meanwhile, media reports say that Rubati was shot three times in the thigh, abdomen and right side of the chest. After receiving first aid at Saranda Hospital, he was transported to Tirana for more specialized treatment.

At around 21:15, in neighborhood no. 4, in Saranda, under still unclear circumstances, citizen Th. R., 50 years old, was wounded with a gunshot in front of his business. He was transported to the hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.

Police services immediately arrived at the scene and intensive checks are continuing in the area to identify and capture the perpetrator(s). Initial reports suggest that the perpetrators were two people wearing spacesuits, who fled the scene on a motorbike.

Meanwhile, the investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is continuing its actions at the scene to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, as well as to identify and apprehend the perpetrator(s).
