The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, appeared at a press conference this Saturday evening, where he commented on the protest that took place during the day.
Berisha declared that the DP is in full support of the students and called for the unity of citizens and opposition factors against Prime Minister Edi Rama.
He accused the police of provoking protesters and students, acting, according to him, with a criminal scenario towards the student revolt.
Berisha invited citizens and all opposition factors to join this movement.
"Today it was proven that the protesters and students were provoked by the police, who are acting with a criminal scenario towards the student revolt.
I have an invitation for everyone: to unite in support of the students, to unite regardless of the disagreements we may have with each other, regardless of the differences we may have. To unite with the students, who are waging an epic battle against the greatest evil of this nation, whose name is Edi Rama.
I guarantee you that the Democratic Party is determined to fully support the students, their revolt, and to respect all those who are on this line. I invite every citizen to engage in this battle.
The unification of all opposition factors should be the crown of this great and unprecedented movement that is taking place in Albania, to separate from this regime and to prepare for a government that will prepare the legal framework for free and fair elections”, said Berisha.
