Journalist's denunciation: An SUV cut me off several times after I filmed the removal of inert materials from the Shkumbin River

Journalist Osman Stafa reported this Friday to the Elbasan Police that he was threatened because of his duty.

According to the report made by him, the team had headed towards the Hotolisht area, in Librazhd, to verify and document with film footage the denunciations of citizens regarding the removal of inert materials from the Shkumbin River.

After finishing filming, he claims that he was followed by an off-road vehicle, which cut off his path several times along the Librazhd-Elbasan axis.

In a video posted on Facebook, the journalist states that the driver of the vehicle blocked his path and that, due to the nature of his work, he felt threatened by this behavior.

" I shot about 20 seconds of video. After this moment, I took my car, which also bears the logo of the television station where I work, and headed towards Elbasan and then Tirana. As soon as I got on the highway, an SUV approached me from behind and signaled me to stop.

I didn't stop and then the vehicle came very close to my left side. I tried to slow down so the car could pass, but it stopped and cut me off.

"It was a typical mafia act, which I had never encountered before. I then went to the Elbasan Police Station, where I filed a report," Stafa declares.
