SPAK hackers, Agim Ismaili and his two associates will be tried as a structured criminal group

The Special Court today passed for trial the case file of 3 defendants who are suspected of hacking and stealing data from the computers of 3 SPAK prosecutors.

At the request of the prosecutor in the case, Bledar Maksuti, the GJKKO will try the former Director General of Prisons, Agim Ismaili, the former employee of the Inspectorate of Territorial Protection (IMT), Arnold Rrokaj, and the former official of the Vlora prison, Zambak Gjoni, for the charge of structured criminal group.

The cyberattack on SPAK occurred on March 12, but was discovered a few days later. According to SPAK, the hackers attempted to obtain information from the computers of three special prosecutors, Behar Dibra, Enkeleida Millonai and Elida Kaçkini, but according to the Prosecution, they were unable to penetrate the internal IT system.

The hackers also attempted to interfere with the email of Altin Dumani, then head of SPAK, but were unsuccessful thanks to strong security measures.
