Woman in Vlora tries to drown in the sea, Ukrainian tourist rescued

A woman around 60 years old attempted to drown herself in the sea in the city of Vlora, but was rescued by a Ukrainian citizen. The incident occurred this Tuesday morning, where the woman, under still unclear circumstances, entered the sea with her clothes on and attempted to end her life.

Ukrainian citizen Sergei Artemenko and his wife Katerina were the ones who saved the woman from drowning. They say they initially heard a sudden noise and thought it was a fish. As they approached, they noticed a woman in black clothes, who was struggling to breathe.

Sergei took off his clothes and entered the water to save her, while his wife, Katerina, provided first aid.

After the rescue, police forces and the emergency service were notified, who transported the woman to the hospital for medical attention.

Fortunately, the woman is reported to be out of danger, while Sergei, who also suffered a minor injury to his knee, is in a stable condition. Police are further investigating the circumstances of the incident.
