52-year-old Kozeta Teço was found dead this morning around 06:00, asphyxiated by smoke from a fire that had broken out in her Pogradec apartment.

Signs of violence were found on her body, and it is suspected that she was beaten to death by her boyfriend Ilirjan Selmani , who then burned the apartment to cover his tracks.

The reasons are still unknown, while Selmani was later placed in police custody, VoxNews managed to obtain a photo of Kozeta Teço.

The suspected perpetrator, after leaving the apartment, denied having committed the murder.

Meanwhile, the police are continuing the investigation to uncover the motive that pushed the young man from Pogradec to kill his partner.
