The lawyers of the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, have submitted a request for an extension of the procedural deadlines, in order to prepare objections to the investigations being conducted against him.

According to the legal defense, the investigative file is voluminous, so more time is required to familiarize yourself with the content in detail and to prepare the appropriate responses within the legal framework.

Meanwhile, it is expected that developments regarding the investigation and the request for an extension of time will be made public in the coming days.

The SPAK file on Erion Veliaj consists of 60 thousand pages, with entire investigative files on the accusations against the mayor, his wife Ajola Xoxa, and other defendants, including 5 businessmen.

A total of 30 individuals, companies and non-profit organizations are part of the SPAK file.
