A 48-year-old woman from the village of Bujan in Tropoja has been missing since July 22, putting the Tropoja and Kosovo Police structures in motion.
The police have been investigating for at least three days since the complaint was filed, with two main leads: her departure due to domestic violence and a possible murder by her husband.
For this purpose, on July 26, the Kukes Police announced that 58-year-old Imer Shpata was arrested, until the incident is fully clarified.
The woman, married in Bujan, but with her family of origin in the neighboring village of Dojan in the Bujan Administrative Unit, was reported missing from the family home and has not been seen since.
The missing woman is the mother of three adult children, two sons, one of whom lives in England, the other in Bujan, and a daughter who lives in Tirana. Police sources say that it is suspected that her departure was a result of domestic violence by her husband, while the investigation does not rule out the possibility of murder by her husband.
To find the 48-year-old, the Tropoja Police are closely cooperating with their colleagues in Kosovo, as there is a possibility that she may have headed towards Gjakova. On the ground, searches continue without interruption.
