CEZ-DIA affair and lobbying in the US / SPAK closes investigations into Meta and
Monika Kryemadhi and Ilir Meta

Nine months after the arrest, SPAK has closed the investigations into the Ilir Meta file, the CEZ-DIA affair and the SMI lobbying scandal in the US. With the closure of the investigations, it is revealed that SPAK has also named Monika Kryemadhi's mother, Fatime Kryemadhi, as a defendant, against whom there were no security measures. 

Fatime Kryemadhi appeared before SPAK today to be briefed on the charges, along with Monika Kryemadhi's friend, Ema Çoku, and former AKEP leader Pirro Xhixho. The latter is being investigated for passive corruption, while Çoku is being investigated for money laundering.  

Meta and Kryemadhi themselves were indicted on May 29, where they were charged with corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets. Tomorrow at 1:00 PM, Monika Kryemadhi will be at the doors of SPAK just to be informed of the closure of the investigations.

Meta has been in custody since October 21, while Kryemadhi has been under arrest. Kryemadhi-Meta, now legally divorced, are accused of having exercised their power over the years to illegally obtain wealth and have concealed their source by using family members.
