The Court of First Instance in Fier has sentenced singer Luiz Ejlli to one year in prison on charges of forging documents.
It is learned that Ejlli has appealed the decision and his case has now been registered with the Court of Appeals with general jurisdiction. The hearing is scheduled for April 29.
Also involved in this case is citizen Fatmir Avdurramani, who was sentenced to 18 months in prison by the court.
According to the Prosecution, Luiz Ejlli, in his capacity as a notary, falsified a notarial statement, which was then used by Fatmir Avdurramani at the Prosecution to justify the source of his assets, seized as part of the investigations of property proceedings no. 3 of 2021.
Investigations have revealed that the statement drafted by Ejlli was forged in content, but bore his signature.
It was also proven that with the same date, repertoire and collection number, in the register of former notary Luiz Ejlli and in the archive of notarial acts from 2015, there is another notarial declaration with different parties.
