After several months of investigations, the Tirana Prosecution Office has managed to uncover a wide-ranging fraud scheme with the reimbursable drugs "Foster" and "Trimbow", involving managers of the Health Care Insurance Fund (FSDKSH) and pharmaceutical companies.
At the conclusion of the investigations, eight security measures were issued for the criminal offenses of "Forgery of documents" and "Hiding income".
At the center of the investigation is the company "CFO Pharma", headed by Nadir Çausholli and administered by Frigul Milla, who has been declared wanted, as it is suspected that in collaboration with the entities "Pharma Plus" and "Medix Albania" it has submitted fictitious invoices and inventories to benefit from reimbursement funds from the state.
Among those investigated are the general director of FSDKSH, Spartak Zekja, who has been arrested, as well as the employees of the institution Zade Mali, Romina Agalliu and Esjana Gjishti, against whom detention and suspension measures have been imposed. In addition, a security measure of "ban on leaving the country" and "obligation to appear" has been imposed on Alba Zylfon, Jona Berberi and Lorela Ballabani, suspected of involvement in fictitious actions and concealment of income.
The investigations, conducted in cooperation with the Tax Investigation Directorate and the Economic Crime Section of the Tirana Police, uncovered an organized scheme that allowed pharmaceutical companies to illegally benefit from large sums of public drug reimbursement funds.
