New details are emerging from the tragedy in Shkodra, where poisoning resulted in the death of a 3-year-old child while his sister is fighting for her life in Tirana. According to unofficial information, the brother and sister are suspected of being intoxicated by rat poison.

A few days ago, their parents had sprayed rat poison in the storage room of their apartment in the village of Mjeda, where it is suspected that the minor children came into physical contact or inhaled the toxic poison.

Also, the Shkodra hospital says that the father had sent his two children, aged 3 and 7, for the first time on Friday, with suspicions that they had been infected with seasonal viruses. They then left for their apartment but returned on Saturday, this time the two minor children were in critical condition.

According to the Shkodra hospital, on Saturday at around 10:00 am they presented in serious condition with cardiac insufficiency (low pulse, very low vital signs).

The 3-year-old boy died 10 minutes after arriving at the hospital, while his 7-year-old sister was rushed to Tirana.

Toxicological analyses are expected to shed more light on the causes of this serious tragedy.
