Albanian Rufat Kasamaj was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being accused of raping an English girl in the Westfield Stratford shopping center.

The 15-year-old girl, who has not been named for security reasons, was separated from her friends at the Bat and Ball bar in Westfield on September 4 last year, while under the influence of alcohol, she was approached by the citizen Albanian Rufat Kasamaj, 36 years old, who was caught by security cameras watching him. Kasamaj, took his little 'victim' to a secluded alley and 'dragged' her before raping her.

Prosecutor Tim told the court that: " She was separated from her friends after one of them got into some kind of fight and from her recollection, the defendant started touching her stomach from the beginning ."

Kasamaj, who came to the UK in 2017, initially pleaded guilty to the offense in October last year at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
