Jim Belushi "certifies" Lazarat: Why the actor considers it the right

For 10 days, the world-famous Albanian actor Jim Belushi has been in Albania not only to make a documentary, but also to share his experience in the legalization of cannabis, as he has his own farm in the United States.

He admitted in a press conference that he came with the invitation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, at a time when the legalization of cannabis is being discussed.

"I'm doing a six-part program. I started with my farm in Oregon and other American states until I received a call from Prime Minister Rama to come and discuss the possibilities of legalizing the export of cannabis. And since I have my own cannabis farm, I believe he must have heard about it and wanted to know what my experience was and my thoughts. I know that the prime minister has a law that is still in parliament and has not been passed yet. In my opinion, cannabis is a medicinal plant that heals and helps you with many diseases. We have to distinguish between the medicinal plant and the organized crime that has been involved and has given cannabis this negative connotation ," said Jim Belushi.

Traveling around Albania no longer as an actor, but as a farmer, Belushi has also stopped in the places that seem most suitable for the cultivation of cannabis.

One of his stops was Lazarati, which the artist described as the right place.

"You have a fantastic climate with about 300 sunny days. Suitable for filming as well as growing cannabis. We know that Lazarat has been criminalized. The people there are actually people who deal with agriculture, they grow and take care of this plant with a lot of passion. We identified it and found that that area is the most special area to grow this plant as it has to do with the weight of the land itself and the water. Also they have very skilled people who have a lot of knowledge to grow that plant. This is another area where cannabis can appear and can be legalized and then exported. We realized that in this area it might be best to cultivate this plant."

Actor Jim Belushi is nearing the end of the documentary about Albania, which will be broadcast on one of the most popular channels, "Discover Channel".
