Suspected of damage amounting to millions of euros, the director of the Port of Durres is being questioned in Kosovo

Former Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure of Kosovo, Liburn Aliu, has been questioned by the Kosovo Special Prosecution Office.

Aliu, who is currently the director of the Port of Durres, appeared with his lawyer.

According to media in Kosovo, Liburn Aliu is being questioned in connection with a suspected case of abuse of official duty while he was a minister in the Kurti Government, a position he held until August 2025, when he resigned.

He is being questioned in the case of water bottlers, where he is suspected of causing millions of euros in damage to the state of Kosovo.

Liburn Aliu was Minister until August 27, 2025, when he resigned after the election of Dimal Basha as Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo.

In October of the same year, Aliu was elected the new director of the Port of Durres.
