Driver says he was stopped by three people and threatened with his life, Police deny it: There is no complaint

The State Police has reacted to a complaint from a freight driver, who claimed that yesterday he was stopped by three armed men at the exit of the Qafës e Buallit tunnel.

During a complaint to JOQ Albania, he claimed that the three people who stopped him and asked him if he was "Beni", and after he denied it was him, threatened him with his life and punched him.

Further, he said that he has made several phone calls to the Bulqiza Police Station, where he accuses that his phone was not answered.

Regarding these accusations, the police inform that from the verifications they have carried out, no phone calls have been recorded regarding this case. Likewise, there is no complaint at the Bulqiza Police Station.

The announcement further states that work is being done to verify and determine the authenticity or otherwise of the published event.

Regarding a publication distributed on social networks, which claims that a driver was stopped by armed individuals near the Qafës e Buallit tunnel, and that he did not receive a response after the calls he claims to have made to the Bulqizë Police Station, we clarify that:

Immediately after becoming aware of this publication, the Dibër Local Police Directorate launched verifications to fully clarify the alleged circumstances.

A verification of the communications logs of the Bulqizë Police Station's Operations Room shows that no phone call has been recorded regarding this case. Also, to date, no citizen has reported to the Police structures regarding this allegation.

Despite the lack of a complaint, the Dibër Local Police Directorate and the Bulqizë Police Commissariat are continuing verifications to determine the authenticity or not of the event published on the JOQ social network.

The Dibër Local Police Directorate remains committed to treating every complaint seriously and invites the citizen in question to report to the Police structures, as well as to provide any information that may help identify the perpetrators and fully clarify the circumstances of this event.
