Marash Dukaj, Minister of Public Administration in Montenegro, regarding the attack on three Albanian citizens on Saturday, said that this event has been clarified to a certain extent.
"So far, five of the eight suspects have been brought to justice, they are Montenegrin citizens who live in the city of Herzegovin, Montenegro," Dukaj said.
Dukaj said that in the beginning there was an attempt to give this event a national connotation, but according to him, the event took a different epilogue.
He said that this is a group of young people who were under the influence of drugs and alcohol during this Orthodox Christmas period.
"The police response was very quick. We have insisted on talking not only with the police but also with the prosecutor's office, and this issue has been raised at the highest political level", added the Minister of Public Administration in Montenegro.
"According to the information I have received, young Albanians have not been treated properly and this is not good at all. I also talked with the Minister of Health about this issue and he promised me that he will take measures against the relevant institutions, specifically the Health institutions", said Dukaj for Dukagjini.
According to media reports, young Albanians were raped without reason by some people in military uniforms.
The police of Montenegro said that the cause of the incident was a traffic incident.
The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajiq, has also reacted to this case, who, through a post on the "X" platform, has informed that this incident is being investigated and that one of the aggressors has been identified.
"I am very sorry for today's events that happened to our dear guests from Albania. I emphasize that Montenegro should and will be an oasis of peace and security for everyone. Our thoughts are with everyone affected and we are working to provide everyone with the safety and hospitality they deserve. A perpetrator has been identified and efforts are underway to capture him. Soon all the information will be made known to others", Spajiq wrote.
