Former deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj appeared this Thursday at the Special Prosecutor's Office where he testified for a full six hours.

Ahmetaj is being investigated on suspicion of at least 4 criminal offences: non-declaration or concealment and false declaration of assets; passive corruption of high officials; money laundering and abuse of office.

But the journalist Adriatik Doçi, the man who submitted a dossier to the SPAK against the former socialist minister, gave a strong statement today. According to Doçi, Arben Ahmetaj is also being investigated for a structured criminal group, thus becoming the first former high official in the history of pluralism to be investigated for a structured criminal group.

In an interview with the journalist Sidorela Gjoni in "Euronews Now", Doçi also accused the prosecutor of SPAK, Klodian Braho, who, according to the journalist, hid the evidence for the former minister Arben Ahmetaj.

"Prosecutor Klodian Braho hid the evidence. And after this scenario was revealed in the media, the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, resigned from the investigation of the file or left. It is no coincidence that a prosecutor who had the file left SPAK chief Altin Dumani, who has now become the main prosecutor of Ahmetaj's file," said Doçi.
