
A significant amount of food products beyond their expiration dates are seized during a physical check carried out on the premises of a commercial entity authorized to use the Inward Processing Regime.
According to the official announcement, customs officers have found and blocked 2,500 kilograms of rice flour with an expiration date of April 1, 2025, as well as 5,150 kilograms of pizza flour with an expiration date of April 7, 2025.
In total, this amounts to 7,650 kilograms of flour that was beyond its use-by date, referring to the expiration dates marked on the product.
Durrës Customs has initiated the relevant procedures in cooperation with the structures of the National Food Authority, in accordance with legal competences, until the destruction of the blocked goods.
The General Directorate of Customs has emphasized its commitment to law enforcement and has appealed to economic operators to respect legal obligations, in order to guarantee food safety and protect consumers.
