Accident on the new bridge in Kukes, three vehicles collide

A road accident was recorded this afternoon at the New Bridge in Kukës, involving three vehicles traveling towards Tirana.

The collision occurred in the middle of the bridge, completely blocking one direction of traffic.

Due to the accident, traffic police immediately diverted traffic towards the old bridge over the Black Drin River, avoiding traffic congestion.

Although increased traffic was created for several minutes, police forces made it possible to direct vehicles and avoid long queues.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the accident, but only material damage to the vehicles involved.

According to preliminary sources, the cause of the accident is suspected to have been the negligence of the driver of the first vehicle and failure to respect the safety distance from the other two vehicles.

Traffic police are continuing their investigations to fully uncover the causes of the incident.
