This morning, during the prayer service on the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, the head of the KMSH, Bujar Spahiu, conveyed a congratulatory message. Spahiu said that today is a double joy, as Kurban Bayrami is celebrated on Friday.
" Dear brothers and sisters, who have gathered today, here in this square to celebrate the greatest day of Eid al-Adha. Today we celebrate the holiday, a day that unites our hearts in worship, gratitude and solidarity. As rarely, today the most beautiful day of the week, Friday, is joined with the most beautiful day of the year, Eid al-Adha, a double joy. Eid al-Adha reminds us of the sublime sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him, who humbled himself with full faith in the command of God and the universe, " said Spahiu.
He said that Eid al-Adha is an invitation for everyone. This day, Spahiu said, should be seen as a beacon of hope at a time when we are facing economic, social and spiritual challenges.
" This sacrifice teaches us today that faith is not just words but deeds. Not just a ritual but a sincere commitment to be more just, honest and merciful in every step of our lives. Honorable brothers and sisters, our Islamic religion teaches us that faith is not complete without social sensitivity, our worship is not complete if it does not include responsibility towards each other. Our society will also not be just if its foundations do not rest on divine values, mercy, justice, generosity and honesty.
Today, Eid al-Adha is an invitation to everyone, without distinction, to the worker and farmer who supports their families with the sweat of their brow, to mothers and grandmothers, to young people who seek their place in society, to teachers who sow knowledge, to doctors and leaders who influence the development of society.
At a time when economic, social and spiritual challenges affect many families, Eid comes as a beacon of hope. Let us not see it as a day of rest and consumption but as a day of worship, as it truly is, as an opportunity to rebuild our connections with God and each other, ” said Spahiu.
A prayer was also offered for the people in Gaza, who have been facing a long-standing war.
