A joint operation by SPAK with Finnish authorities led to the crackdown on an Albanian criminal drug gang in Finland.
The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, stated that criminal activity was organized in Albania.
Dumani added that the focus of this group was synthetic drugs.
"The activity extends over years, secondly, the organizers preferred to stay in Albania. From here they organized all the criminal activity. There are 54 people prosecuted, most of them convicted in Finland. In Finland, there are not only Albanian citizens, but also Finns, and those with other nationalities. This is the first time that we have identified a criminal group that was involved in trafficking synthetic drugs. The quantities are large. This criminal group had created a network of its own in Finland. From time to time, they would send their representatives from Albania and there they would start the activity of selling narcotics. The cooperation has been intense," he stressed.
