Cyclist Mikel Landa suffered a serious collision in a bend in the Fresk area of Tirana, during the first stage of the Giro d'Italia that is taking place in Albania.
With only a few kilometers left until the end of the stage, the Spanish cyclist lost control and crashed into the mat.
After the accident, Landa received ambulance help from the medical team and was then transported on a stretcher to the hospital for treatment.
This incident has caused concerns about the possibility of his recovery and participation in the next stages of the race.
Meanwhile, the first stage of the Giro d'Italia, held between Durrës and Tirana, with a distance of 160 kilometers, was won by Danish cyclist Mads Pedersen. He managed to defeat Val Aert by a very small margin, while the third place was taken by Aular.
Landa's incident has shaken up the race and left his chances of continuing in the prestigious Giro d'Italia race unknown.
