Dane Mads Pedersen was the winner of the first stage of the Giro d'Italia, which started in Durrës and ended in Tirana.
Just 2 kilometers from the finish line, an incident occurred where three cyclists fell.
Spanish cyclist Landa lost control on a curve and crashed into a light pole.
Two others fell after him, but fortunately without injuries.
Landa was immediately transported to the hospital and is receiving medical attention.
The race will continue with the next two stages, one in Tirana on Saturday and one in Vlora on Sunday.
