Wojciech Szczesny is undoubtedly one of the absolute protagonists of the World Cup in Qatar. The Juventus goalkeeper stood out in the match against Argentina, stopping his second penalty of the World Cup.

The goalkeeper stopped soccer star Lionel Messi, who was shooting from the penalty spot, at a moment when the Poland-Argentina match was still 0-0.

Beyond the 0-2 loss against Argentina, Poland advanced to the 1/8 of the World Cup, thanks to the goal difference compared to Mexico.

After the match, Szczesny himself, before celebrating the qualification to the round of 16 of the World Cup, shared an interesting event.

Speaking to "TV 2 Sport", the Juventus goalkeeper revealed what happened before the penalty.

"We talked before the penalty and I told him that I bet 100 euros that they won't give it," he said.

A joke which, however, hides another purpose, since with these words the goalkeeper tried to destabilize the captain of Argentina who was already ready to execute the penalty.

Afterwards goalkeeper Szczesny joked about it: “So I lost a bet against Messi. I don't know if betting is allowed in the World Cup, maybe they will penalize me. However, I will not pay him, he has enough money."
