The FIA ​​has announced the penalty for the Milton Keynes team who were caught exceeding the 2021 spending ceiling.

Red Bull has been fined $7 million and a 7% reduction in wind tunnel and aerodynamic simulations for exceeding the 2021 spending cap.

The FIA ​​published on Friday the result of the investigation and the agreement reached with the Milton Keynes team, which has finally accepted President Mohammed Ben Sulayem's proposal, instead of denying guilt and taking the case to court.

Thus, the weeks of mutual accusations end and the sporting results of the previous season are respected, essentially the title of Max Verstappen. But, beyond the economic fine, the penalty in the aerodynamic tests could negatively affect the team that has won two championships in 2022.

The document shows that between the report sent by Red Bull and the FIA ​​audits there was a deviation of 2 million dollars, which caused a "minor violation".

The $7 million fine must be paid in the next 28 days. This decision cannot be appealed because Red Bull has already accepted the FIA's offer to close the case.
