Leo Messi could return to Barcelona in the near future.

Journalist Alex Candal, who was the first to reveal the Argentine's move to Inter Miami, says the striker will return to the Catalans.

It is said that the 37-year-old wants to return to Barcelona one more time before ending his career.

"I can't retire from football without playing in the new 'Camp Nou'," Messi is reported to have said, according to journalist Candal.

The latter spoke to "DSports", making Catalan fans dream.

"Who was the first to say that Messi would go to Inter Miami? Me, right? And now I'm telling you, he will return to Barcelona," Candal stressed.

Messi has a contract with Inter Miami until the end of 2025.
