"I traveled around Europe to get to Lecce." Ylber Ramadani seems in love with his new club, where he landed a few months ago. No one talks anymore about Morten Hjulmand, the good Danish "playmaker" sold in the summer by Sporting to Portugal.

Now many are talking, and only in positive terms, about the number 20 of the yellow-reds, who on Saturday, with the goal from outside the area, in the 89th minute, gave Roberto D'Aversa's team the victory they had been missing since October 22 . He sent the ball into the net, then picked it up and put it under his jersey and cheered happily: "My Kosovar partner and I already have a one-year-old and eight-month-old daughter, who was born in Budapest", says Ramadani in an interview for ' Gazzetta dello Sport'.

Despite being 27 years old, he has already seen Europe: Kosovo, Albania, Denmark, Hungary and "finally" Italy: " It's not over. I was born in Germany, then I returned to Kosovo. We had financial problems at home, but I just wanted to play football. Dad wanted me to work with him selling watermelons and fruits in the market, but after he saw me play the first game he told me: go play football. The most important step was the move to Aberdeen, Scotland, the level there was significantly higher than in Denmark and Hungary. Thanks to the appearance there, I won the national team and Italy".

Are things better in your family now?

Absolutely. My father has one shop, my brother has two.

You are from Kosovo, but you chose to play with the Albanian national team...

I have two passports. I feel like I belonged to both countries, but I chose Albania and we will challenge Italy in the European.

How are you as a national team?

We are a good team, with 9 footballers playing in Serie A and that certainly helps. We prefer to play with a 4-2-3-1 formation. We also speak Italian with Sylvinho, as we spoke with Reja, who preceded him. We would like to be the surprise of Europe. I also play a bit more attacking role there. Like Asllani and Bajrami.

At the weekend you will challenge your friend, Asllani. What do you expect against the unstoppable Inter?

Inter is the strongest team in Serie A, which, moreover, is having a good time. With Kristjan in the national team, we have a ritual: in the morning we always drink coffee together. On Saturday we will exchange jerseys.

Can Lecce handle an opponent like Zikaltri?

Our strong point is that we are a team. We are united. If the group is functional, you get results. In our dressing room there is only laughter, we joke a lot.

How's it going with D'Aversa? Did he trust you right away?

Very well, he helped me a lot and still helps me by working beyond the normal training, aside. It tells me I have to shoot and when I have space I do. I have scored 8 goals in my career with long shots, only one with Albania.

And so here in Lecce we no longer talk about Hjulmand...

I knew from day one that I had to give more and more, always 100 percent. He has been important here and he has done very well. I know I have to work, work, work.

How did you get to Lecce?

Verona was also looking for me, but I saw this project, the seriousness of the club, and I had no doubts about choosing.

Who do you spend the most time with on your team?

With Berisha coming from 'Primavera', but you can be sure that he will make a place for himself in the first team. He is a player who can do everything. Like me.

Where do you want to go?

Easy to say, in the Champions League.

Who has impressed you in Serie A?

Kwara, Osimhen, but also Anguissa. And our Baschirotto, a true leader.

You seem to have adapted well to Lecce...

From the first day they made me feel like one of them, welcoming me in the best way. I live in the city center, the only problem is parking. The food here is very good. Pasta with cherry tomatoes and pizza are my favorites.
