Lionel Messi has openly expressed his fear that he may miss this year's World Cup in Qatar, which will be his last.
The 35-year-old spoke in an interview with "DirectTV" about his situation and that of his injured teammates, Paulo Dybala and Angel di Maria, who are also at risk of not participating in the World Cup.
Even Messi has missed the last two matches of Paris SG due to a muscle pull and hopes to return to form in time for the most important tournament for any footballer.
"Injuries certainly worry me. This is a different World Cup, played at a different time of the year... It's so close and any little thing that can happen can put you out of the tournament," said the Argentine.
"Looking at what happened to Dybala and Di Maria, the truth is that the fear and concern has increased. I hope Di Maria and Dybala are not missing. They have enough time to get in shape for the World Cup."
