FIFA has officially announced that the 2034 World Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia. For the first time in history, the Middle Eastern country will host the most important football tournament, and there were no other candidates to compete during the bidding process. The choice was not complicated, as Saudi Arabia was the only one competing to organize the tournament that will take place in less than a decade.

This is another crucial step for the Saudi federation, which aims to play an important role in world football. After strengthening the national championship with extraordinary transfers and the arrival of great players from the best teams in Europe, Saudi football is preparing for its crowning glory, which will happen precisely with the World Cup. As in Qatar, there is a high possibility that the tournament will be played in the winter.

FIFA has also announced the host countries for the 2030 World Cup, which are Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Morocco, Portugal and Spain.

Due to continental rotation, the World Cup had to be hosted by a country from either the Asian or Oceanian confederations. In this context, no other country could keep up with Saudi Arabia. Indonesia and Australia quickly withdrew their candidacies, leaving Saudi Arabia as the only candidate with the infrastructure to host such a major tournament. In recent years, the country has taken on a significant role in hosting various sports, from motor racing to tennis, and football is the culmination of this project.

The Saudi Arabian bid includes 15 futuristic, ultra-modern stadiums spread across the country's major cities. Like Qatar, the World Cup will be played in winter or late autumn.

The Saudi summer is extremely hot, so it will be necessary for the national championships to be interrupted mid-season, although everything must be balanced with the start of Ramadan, which in 2034 begins on November 11.
