Adriano gave his official farewell to football at the Maracanã stadium during his farewell match called "A Última Batalha do Imperador" (The Emperor's Last Battle), where Flamengo and "Amigos da Itália" faced off.

However, the most emotional moment occurred during the second half, when the voice of Almir Ribeiro, the late father of Brazilian Adriano, who passed away from a sudden illness, was recreated through artificial intelligence and heard throughout the magnificent stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

The touching message

The message addressed to the former Inter and Brazilian international striker was touching, causing Adriano to burst into tears in the middle of the pitch: "There have been so many beautiful moments, my son. I always told you not to give up: you can do more, you can do it, and look what happened. Look what a beautiful celebration! It's all for you. You deserve no less. Everyone loves you, not only for the player you were, but for the person you are: a humane and sincere boy, a real person. I am very proud of you and, of course, I could not not be here for the Emperor's last battle."

Special gesture from the family

At that moment, striker Adriano's mother entered the field, bringing the Flamengo jersey: "Please wear this jersey and end your career here at Maracanã, in front of your fans and the club you love. Can you do this? Dad loves you very much and continues to cheer for you. Now go back to Mengão and do for me what you already know."

Adriano, of course, donned the Rubronegro club jersey, took an emotional lap around the pitch to greet the crowd and received a standing ovation from the fans before the match resumed.

The loss of the father and the difficulties of the Emperor

On August 4, 2004, Adriano received tragic news: Almir Leite Ribeiro, then 44 years old, was found dead in an apartment in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, as a result of a sudden illness that struck him during the afternoon.

The Brazilian footballer, who was 24 years old at the time and at the peak of his career, experienced a great shock from the loss of his father, which greatly affected the course of his life and career.
