In the first reaction to the media after leaving the government cabinet, Arben Ahmetaj spoke outside the doors of the Parliament for Vizion Plus, responding to the interest in important issues, such as the opposition's accusations of involvement in the Incinerators affair or other related political issues with his engagement in the party and government.
Arben Ahmetaj says that he welcomed the decision of the Presidency of the Socialist Party to remove the political leadership of the Vlora district.
Arben Ahmetaj says that the next departure from the leadership position within the party, after he was dismissed from the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Reconstruction in July, is a normal process of reorganization.
Ahmetaj : With great pleasure. Reorganization is normal, it happens often, it happened, it will happen, there is nothing new.
Asked if his removal from any government and party function means distancing himself from the ruling majority, Arben Ahmetaj said that it is news that does not concern him.
Ahmetaj : I and the Socialist Party and all my colleagues are one. These are only telenovelas, but apparently there is no news, there are some of these news that don't add up and maybe you are looking for these little news that maybe add up.
He ruled out the possibility that not holding any major job is related to the incinerators' corruption affair.
Ahmetaj : What do I have to do with incinerators? They are construction works, what does it matter, tell me how do you relate? They have mentioned your name and everyone else's. I don't want to know who mentions my name, it's not like it excites me. It is an issue that is being discussed in the relevant institutions. You want to connect dots that don't exist.
