Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed skepticism that the process of Albania's integration into the European Union can be accelerated. Rama is incredulous, despite the statement of the German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, this Monday that the unanimity of the EU in making decisions should be removed, to avoid obstacles from a single state, as happened in the case of North Macedonia from Bulgaria.

"I am honestly not sure that there will be an acceleration, in general because of geopolitical reasons, but I want to hope that because of geopolitical reasons, the new European political community proposed by Macron and elaborated by Charles Michel, to which we are working together with the Dutch government and I and Prime Minister Rutte will accelerate. It is a very important idea with a lot of potential", said Rama from Slovenia, where he is participating in the Bled Strategic Forum.

Meanwhile, when asked about what is happening between Kosovo and Serbia, Rama said: " I think it is still a great shame that the citizens of Kosovo cannot move freely without visas, while they did so when they were under a barbaric regime, so their liberators are holding them hostage and this is a rather grave and shameful paradox of our times. As for the dialogue between them, I mean between Kosovo and Serbia, I am convinced as I was that it is not worth wasting so much time, so much energy, instead of sitting down and solving the problems as they sat down at the end of last".

Thus, Rama admitted that there are differences of opinion between Tirana and Pristina, but not inconsistency . "Of course we have some differences, which is normal because we are two different countries and we fully support Kosovo and the Kosovar authorities when it comes to their persistent request for recognition, but we have a slightly different view on how to get there. We are much more in favor of cooperation and construction step by step, taking as an example other countries that managed to produce extraordinary success stories from conflict and bloodshed" , said Rama.
