In Athens, the search continues to find a space for the meeting of Prime Minister Edi Rama with the Albanian diaspora on Sunday, May 12.

The Greek media "Protothema" writes that until now there is no space reserved for the meeting of the Albanian Prime Minister.

"Edi Rama is 'homeless' until now, as the booking of the Peace and Friendship Stadium seems to be not going well to gather there. The search for a space had started with the Christmas Theater, but that was blocked at the request of the mayor", writes Protothema.

The article goes on to say that until this morning, the Albanians in Athens had not made an official written request to reserve a space and have the board convene to consider it.

According to Protothema, one possibility is the "Melina Merkouri" hall, which has a small capacity of about 1,000 people, but the request from the Albanian side is for a hall with 4,000-5,000 seats.

"The Albanian side requested the Olympiakos stadium verbally, but they did not make the request in writing", writes Protothema.

The day before, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that Rama's visit to Athens is unnecessary, but added that they cannot prevent it.

Prime Minister Edi Rama also reacted after Mitsotakis, who emphasized that his visit to the Greek capital has nothing to do with the internal affairs of Greece, the elections for the European Parliament or any other specific narrative that arouses the interest of Greek politicians.

The head of the government says that his visit has been planned for a long time and is done to engage with Albanians living abroad and to share with them the pride of the homeland and the vision "Albania 2030".
