Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha has reacted to the situation created the day before at SPAK , where supporters of Erion Veliaj gathered to stand by the mayor of Tirana.

In a statement to the media before entering Parliament, Hoxha stated that the police did not intervene because the people were not protesters, but sympathizers.

He said that the gardaí were present there, but their employees had a moment of difficulty due to the sudden crowd.

When asked by journalists whether he would dismiss the Director of the State Police, Ilir Proda, the minister did not answer, but said: These are two different things, the previous protesters were informed.

"In terms of a security measure, the state police take measures to secure SPAK, it is their duty, there are also Guard employees who are on duty. They had a difficulty yesterday due to the sudden gathering of people who were sympathizers and not protesters. The previous protesters were notified," said Minister Hoxha.
