President Bajram Begaj appointed Edi Rama as Prime Minister of Albania today. But in addition to this decision, the head of government also exercises responsibilities for the establishment and functioning of the virtual minister of Artificial Intelligence, Diella.

Rama announced during the Socialist Party Assembly the plan for Diella to be a minister and the focus of her work will be on public procurement.

The opposition has called this move a travesty. The head of the DP parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, considered President Begaj's decree ridiculous.

"The decree of the President of the Republic to charge the Prime Minister with the establishment and functioning of the virtual minister "Diella", besides being ridiculous, is completely unconstitutional. It contradicts articles 96, 97, 102 and 103 of the Constitution", said Bardhi.

According to him, an Albanian citizen who has reached the age of 18 and is mentally capable can be appointed as a minister.

"Which of these qualities does Minister "Diella" have?! The Prime Minister's blunders cannot be transformed into legal acts of the Albanian state. Ushtar Bajrami is attempting to turn the Republic into a mess, as he himself is," said Bardhi.
