Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha held a meeting with education experts and teachers, with whom he discussed the current state of our education system.
The head of the Democratic Party stated that due to the departure of citizens from Albania, 208,000 fewer children are studying in schools today, compared to 9 years ago.
He also added that the figure of the teacher is being ignored as the government has placed a shameful control over them.
"From 9 years ago, we count 208 thousand children, pupils, students less in our schools. We have a turnover of 27%. And you are witnesses of the real situation of the students, the family situation, between the village and the city, between the wealthy and the poor, we have a disregard for the figure of the missionary of this process, which is the teacher. We have a fundamental difference in the philosophy of education.
Education based on values, freedoms, and dignity has gradually been replaced by education of submission based on submission. A shameful control is imposed on the teacher. Their attitudes on social media are not few cases when they have been fired or transferred because of their Facebook statuses," said Berisha.
