On the second day of his visit to Kosovo, the President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, met at the headquarters of the Assembly, with leaders of opposition parties in Kosovo and representatives of minority parties.
The presidency announces that Begaj has emphasized once again that he fully supports the legitimate right of Kosovo to extend authority and establish the rule of law in the north of the country, in cooperation with the USA and the EU. According to him, dialogue with Serbia is the only way to make it clear that the reality of independent Kosovo is irreversible and unchangeable.
The Albanian head of state has also underlined as very important the dialogue and common attitude between all the political factors in Kosovo regarding the major challenges the country is facing. For President Begaj, the inter-parliamentary and inter-institutional cooperation between Albania and Kosovo must be continued with intensive and measurable work for the implementation of all bilateral agreements as well as the increase of cooperation in the field of security, especially in food and energy.
Leaders of the opposition parties appreciated Albania's support in Kosovo's journey, as well as the decision made the day before for the electricity supply.
Contrary to what he had planned, Bajram Begaj did not meet with the head of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku. The latter did not agree to meet at the headquarters of the Assembly, but at the headquarters of his party, but this was not accepted by Begaj.
