Prime Minister Edi Rama had his New Year's greetings. He begins by apologizing for the moments he may have made a mistake, while emphasizing that he has done as much as he could to be close to the citizens.
"Tonight I don't have a traditional message, this is the night of your family, friends and relatives, and you had me almost every day at home. I apologize if I overdid it, if I didn't speak properly, if I was wrong, I'm very sorry!
Like every year, I did everything I could, but not everything I wanted, I could do more than I had left undone. It has been another very difficult year, which the inflation of the war and the energy price madness have made a gloomy year for the whole of Europe.
However, we also had good days - among them historic days, such as the first European football final in Albania or the first EU Summit outside the borders of the European Union, without forgetting the long-awaited culminating moment, the opening of membership negotiations with the European Union. But with the work and the progress made during this year, I am not taking a minute from tonight.
In the next minute I'm going to read you an old text that always amazes me and I feel privileged to share it with you tonight, from Ecclesiastes:
"Under this heaven there is a time for everything and a season for every action: A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up, a time to kill and a time to healed, a time to tear down and a time to build up, a time to mourn and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to throw down and a time to gathered stones, a time to embrace and a time to hold back in embraces, a time to insist and a time to give up, a time to hold and a time to throw away, a time to break and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace".
May the New Year be a time of peace, love and laughter for you, your family and friends!
May God bless Albania!", wished Edi Rama.
