Grida Duma revealed tonight that the division of the Democratic Party, which according to her, will also go to the May 14 elections, was not initiated by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
In the "Top Story" studio, Grida said that the split started from a big event and from the loss of power in 2021, when the expected rotations did not happen.
According to her, the failure to take measures was also a factor of division, but the government then influenced the opposition to continue and divide even more.
"The division of the opposition did not start with Edi Rama. It started on another big event. For me, it started with the loss of power in 2021, when the political rotation did not happen. Even for not taking appropriate measures in those moments. Undoubtedly the power has occurred in keeping the schism open. It is not a problem if they gave me space but not space, I had the space, the point is that political greed and the style of continuing with the same repetitions for two years led to such an event that a person like me does not stay. No matter how much space you give me today, when the usable capacities are few, then it does not apply to me. There are many approaches, but I can't do journalism, I do attitude. I have often seen that the investigative shows in Albania are more effective than the opposition MPs, they had more power than an opposition MP", said Duma.
Further, Grida Duma called leaving the mandate of the deputy a positive action, emphasizing that if she had stayed there, it would not have been a big commitment, but a big fraud.
She emphasized that she did not want to be part of a DP divided into two groups as it currently is.
"In the conditions we are in, once voting is done for an electronic test, it is counted in days, it is as if there are open lists but they are for the mayors, and the parties must cross the threshold or 100 thousand votes of another party, these are issues of the system, the devil hides in the details, but these are not details. Without question, the voter must understand that a moment has come when your party must be held accountable. They can ask me and they did."
