The former Prime Minister of Greece, Kostandinos Karamalis, has recently been on a private visit to Albania.

The news was announced by the mayor of Dropulli, Dhimitraq Toli, who published two photos from the meeting with Karamalis on social networks. It is learned that the former Greek prime minister has stopped in several areas in the region of Vlora and Gjirokastra.

"The meeting with Mr. Karamanlis took place within the framework of a private visit he made together with his family, to several municipalities in the District of Gjirokastra and the District of Vlora. During the conversation, they exchanged opinions on solving the immediate problems faced by the people of Dropulli and Pogon, as well as the need for support from the Greek Government, both to improve the infrastructure in our municipality, and to help the elderly residents who live in our villages" , writes Toli.

Currently, Kostandinos Karamalis is a member of the Greek Parliament from the New Democracy party. We remember that in 2009, when he was prime minister, he was in Albania for an official visit together with the then foreign minister, Dora Bakojanis, to sign in Tirana with Berisha and Basha the agreement on the maritime border, an agreement which was later overturned by the Constitutional Court of Albania.
