After the Minister of Agriculture, Andis Salla, presented the draft law "On commercial receipts for agricultural products", socialist MP Erion Braçe stated that in fact this draft law simply formalizes the taking of debt by farmers, who are currently acting in this way.

Braçe began his speech by quoting a message received from a farmer from the village of Imshte in Myzeqe: "I am reading in the message I received today from Imshte, a village in Myzeqe: 'Hello, deputy, how are you?' This year the watermelon work is a disaster, the collection point in Imshte has planted hectares, and personally only Golja, (I am mentioning it because it is an institution, not an individual) with his partner from Kosovo, have planted 200 hectares and the sweat of the farmers, the collection points are mocked today, these two people collect watermelon from us farmers for 50 lek, while they mock the farmers who are drowning in debt with loans, we have been telling you up to our necks for four years and we have also written to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, and we have not received a response from our party that we voted for with all our hearts, we cannot get out of the debts and loans that we have taken from banks, with respect to so and so on behalf of all the farmers of Imshte"

The socialist MP further emphasized that the only way to help farmers is to separate the collector, the owner of agricultural inputs, and the expert, who according to him are currently only one person, and moreover do not issue fiscal invoices.

"In the conditions I described above, according to farmers, formalization is lacking, abusers dominate the market, what is happening in Divjaka with watermelons, which are the fruit of the moment, illegal people go to the farmer and impose their price, what is the price today, 6 lek, while in the fruit and vegetable markets 30 lek, 5 times more.

"We will have to start from A, otherwise this law has already failed. The owner of agricultural inputs must be separated from the collector and exporter," said Braçe.

Further, in harsh tones, the critical socialist MP stated: "The price they will impose on the farmer is always lower and lower, the expression used today by this group united in one (referring to the owner of agricultural inputs, the collector and the exporter) will they sell the watermelon for so much money or not? "Well, go away, you bastard, I won't take it" excuse me for the expression.

"We do well to legitimize it, no certificate will protect the farmer if we don't regulate the fiscal system."
