66th protest against the government, citizens remind Rama of his resignation with a message in the square: Time for accountability!

The civic protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office entered its 66th day today, where as usual the rally started from "Skënderbej" Square to continue with the march on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, below Edi Rama's office.

Protesters once again demanded the resignation of the prime minister and the government. As usual, there were no shortage of chants: "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", "New Albania", or "Albania seeks revolution".

During today's protest, there were also messages against the new Territorial Reform map, which has sparked rallies in the districts as well.

"In all the cities where it has been proposed to lock down municipalities, there have been protests against this decision. But why now? Because they want local government to be concentrated in fewer and fewer hands," said activist Edison Lika.

Activist Ilir Xhemalaj also criticized the plan for territorial reorganization, citing the municipalities of Libohova, Belsh, and Patos as an example of what he described as a merger of local units.

"I can't understand how the municipality of Libohova is being dissolved, how the municipality of Belsh is being dissolved, how the municipality of the oil workers in Fier, the municipality of Patos is being dissolved. What is behind this territorial reform? The minister has made a pact for 200 thousand Vietnamese. The main goal is the depopulation of Albania by Albanians, but we will not allow it. We want our country for our children for Albanians... Do you see their goals, oil has gone up 216 lek, the euro has fallen, the dollar has fallen but oil is rising, prices are rising, houses are rising, how will we live... Will we allow this depopulation? We will not leave this square, it is the square of the Albanian people, here until they resign," he said.
